I have been trying to re-do my daughter room for over a year now.
Why do something today that you can put off to another day right!
I am almost done and I wanted to show you her up-cycled
furniture that has been given a new life.

furniture that has been given a new life.
This is the before.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the desk. But it was the same color.
Both pieces were purchased at a furniture consignment shop for $40 each.
Each piece was sanded and painted with 3 coats of Valspar's Swiss Coffee.
Minwax Finishing Paste was the final step.
The hardware on the desk was found at Lowe's for $6 each.
The frame was found at a thrift store for $4!
I still have a chair to finish and recover, the frame will hold a bulletin board,
I need new lamps and a chandelier.
I have some really fun artwork that I will reveal this week.
And of course I did this very in-expensively.
Hopefully all will be done by Valentines day!
Let me know what you think!

Hi The Inspired Nest from Inspired Nesting :)
Love your daughters room, so sophisticated :) I could re-do my 10 yo daughters room every month. They seem to accumulate lots of 'stuff' and I'm always try to make it look organized/cohesive....never ending battle, but a fun one!
Your furniture is beautiful painted white. Love how all the details stand out! Linda
Oh, it is all looking wonderful. Love the pretty white and the pink is lovely. I know she must love it. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty
Her room is coming along nicely. I like the glass pulls on the desk. Dropping by from Met Monday.

Love it! ANd I love the color on the walls! Super cute!
This furniture is awesome, but my favorite part of this post is the hot pink bedroom it is in. Love it!
Beautiful job. This is so great for a girl's room. The glass pulls on the desk was a great touch. BTW I love the wall color. Can't wait to see the finished project. Hugs, Ginger
Love what a little white (or sometimes a lot! haha) can do. I really like the glass pulls you chose. It makes the pieces "young" and are perfect for a girl's room.
Good job!
I just love it!!!! Looks beautiful!!! I bet she loves it too!
Just beautiful! It just pops against the pink! Stopping over from met monday
This looks great, Lacy! I love the color! It looks similar to Heirloom White and I've been looking for a color like it in a can {no Heirloom White in quart or gallon size}.
I love the wall color but the glass knobs on the furinature is so pretty....I love seeing that in little girls rooms it does make it look fit for a princess.
I love the swiss coffee color. It seems to be the perfect white.
Your daughter's nightstand looks so lovely painted out in a creamy white! and to my surprise when I saw the photo with the mirror! Amazingly fabulous :D She's one lucky girl.
thank you for linking up to "AMAZE Me Monday" blog party.
What a great make over and the pieces really pop against that fantastic color on the walls! I salute you in using such a rich bright color! I LOVE it! I have only one white room in my home and that is the kitchen but I have a red and green border in there with lots of bright red, yellow and green accents! I love color!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Beautiful job! I'm curious how you refinished the hardware?
Krásné...
I'm loving the lines of the nightstand, and the glass knobs and pulls on the dresser are so pretty!
Very pretty and girlie! I know I would have loved it when I was younger.:o)
I have the same drawer pulls from Lowe's that are on her desk!! Love them, too!

Just wonderful! Love the white.
It looks gorgeous! Great job!
I love this. I have been redoing some furniture for my dad that is white as well and I have been trying to figure out top coat after I am finished painting. What exactly is the purpose of the minwax paste? I love how this turned out! Thank you for sharing!

Wow, great job on your daughter's bedroom furniture! Thank you for joining in on Masterpice Monday. Mary :O)
What a fun, pretty, girly room your daughter is going to have! Great job on the painting of the furniture. I'm going to be painting an old dresser that was my grandmother's, then an aunt's, then my parents, then mine, then my daughter's growing up, and now is in my ex's house, soon to be in my dining room to be used as a sideboard. (I'm afraid I won't do a good job) I LOVE the glass drawer pulls you used on the desk; thanks for letting us know where you purchased them.

I so love the use of painted furniture these days. I have a chest to do myself, much like the one you re-did here; I also have to polish up an old piece, so thanks for the inspiration, looking forward to the chandelier and artwork. Terri www.morningdewdrops.typepad.com
