Christmas Spirit in the Kitchen

The kitchen was not safe from being adorned with the spirit of Christmas.  And boy does it make me happy.  This is definately the heart of our home.  This is a high traffic area.  Come take a look...

This berry wreath greets us from the garage.
This was my big bargain from the floral warehouse in Sarasota.

This fun feather wreath (a Goodwill find last year) hangs on the other side of the door.

Come back tomorrow, I am having a Big, Big Giveaway tomorrow for Tablescape Thursday!

Stay a while and look around, I have been showing bits and pieces of my Christmas decor.

Christmas China Cabinet

Spode Christmas Tree is my Christmas china.
I started collecting this 4 years ago and add pieces each year.
I love mixing this pattern with Lenox Moonspun and all of my grandmothers silver pieces.

A mis-matched grouping of sterling silver knives hangout in my Goodwill Ironstone pitcher.

Antique Souvenir Spoons

My Mom bought 16 of these glasses for me years ago at a super discount.
My kids love drinking out of them!

Can you tell I have a thing for pitchers?

I made this tassel last Christmas season.

Here is a sneak peak of what is coming tomorrow..

I am linking up with Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesdays!

Look around while you are here.  I posted my Christmas Chandelier yesterday and will feature a different bit of decor each day this week.
I hope you will come back tomorrow to see what I have been up to in the kitchen!
Wednesday I will be having a big giveaway!  All you plate addicts do not want to miss this!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

It is finally here!  I have been so excited about decorating for Christmas for months now.  Black Friday began at 2:00 A.M..  Yes, I know that it is really ridiculous to get that early, but I have so much fun doing it.  The funny thing is that this shopping trip that I expected to end around 10 A.M. lasted until 6:30 P.M. that day!  What can I say, we were on a mission.  The day was not going to end until I had found the perfect faux Christmas tree.  Thank you Hobby Lobby, you ended the madness!

Saturday started the kickoff of my Christmas decorating.  I have been steadily trying to get the main decor up.  I plan on giving a home tour next week.  This week I wanted to give you a sneak peak at a few of my favorites.  I have dolled up the chandelier.  She is full of sparkle, red hydrangea's offer pops of color and a little leopard print ribbon really gives it some extra personality!

This was accomplished by adding candle rings, garland, hydrangea's and leopard print ribbon.
It was super easy and took all of 10 minutes to do.

Here is a preview of what I will be featuring tomorrow

Happy Thanksgiving!

To each and everyone of my blogging friends, I wish you and your family a very special Thanksgiving!
I feel truly blessed that I have met such wonderful people through this little blog.  You have no idea how each comment and new follower brightens my day.

My family will be enjoying Thanksgiving at home this year.  I am very excited to be able to stay at home and enjoy special family time this year.  With our busy schedules this is truly needed.
We will be watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade, eating french toast and then a big dinner that I have made.  Then I will be preparing for some Black Friday shopping!  After shopping, the Christmas decor will be going up!

Again Happy Thanksgiving!

Spoon & Knife Art

Remember this:

And how I was worried about everything being too silver?
My sweet blogging friends encouraged me to find some
artwork that would add some color to the wall.
Well, I found the art to go on my wall across from my pantry!  Last week I showed you the fun hooks that I found for the wall.  If you want to see that little makeover you can visit here.

I searched the Internet and had decided to print these graphics from the Graphics Fairy.

But I really liked this print..

I love the script on this print but it didn't have a spoon??

I ran into Homegoods yesterday while I was in town and look what I found..

The prints were perfect and I am so happy with the outcome.
This was a great solution to a big blank space.

Go visit these linky parties for more inspiration!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving week!
Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you will visit again.

Fowl with Pearls

Michael Sowa is a German bred artist who incorporates animals into his paintings and illustrations.  The art is whimsical but most importantly makes me smile.  The minute I saw "Fowl with Pearls" I knew it would be mine.  I don't like mass produced pieces and wanted something really original that I would enjoy looking at every day.

The wall behind my couch is big and beige.  With such an open floor plan I want to keep the neutral paint color.  So I am thinking of doing a gallery wall.  I love the idea of mixing different pieces together to make a really big impact.  This wall can handle it.

Before I had a large french bistro style picture from Kirklands.  At one time I loved it.  I still love the frame.

Here is my bird put into this frame and turned around.

So here she is in all her glory!  She makes me smile.  Hopefully I can find more pieces that make me just as happy
