Ironstone is my favorite item to find while thrifting. I generally can find a few pieces at Goodwill. I always want to do a happy dance when I find a piece! Especially because I only pay less than a dollar a piece! Why do I love Ironstone? Mainly because Ironstone is such a good neutral to use in tablescapes and to place on the wall. I love the look of plates hung on the wall. I also like the fact that each piece is so durable and normally is old.
I had a few bare spaces in my house that really needed something. The older I get the more I am leaning to neutral decor. Ironstone to the rescue.
You can see I already have some Ironstone on the walls.
The space above my french doors worried me.
Much better! I think it really adds some personality.
The panels that flank the sides of the door were an experiment to add some color.
What do you think?
Here is another spot that got some Ironstone love..
You can see the edge of my Ironstone platter on the counter that I found at GW!
I like the changes but I have ordered some Disc Hangers so that I don't
I like the changes but I have ordered some Disc Hangers so that I don't
have to see those ugly hangers.

Hi Lacy! I love your pretty ironstone and how you've used it in your pretty home! Love the little plates you've hung over your french doors. Your color on either side of the doors looks very nice.
be a sweetie and thanks for popping in to see me,
Shelia ;)
Love your ironstone :)
So pretty!!
Oh your ironstone is all fabulous. Gorgeous. I love all the pieces on the wall and above the door. I got some of the disc's and have no idea what I did wrong, but the two I tried didn't stick and they fell down. Sad face!!! Love the trapery panels, the plaid is just gorgeous. It looks wonderful on the sides of the door. Thanks so much for linking to TTT. This is perfect. Hugs, Marty
I heart ironstone, too!
Your white dishes are beautiful and I love how you've displayed them.
I love ironstone, too. And I agree....the older I get, the more I like neutral! Linda
GW to the rescue! What would we do without it? I love all the ironstone. It's not too busy but adds a lot to the space.
Oh, and thank you so much for plugging my giveaway on the sidebar! I really appreciate it!
I'm a ironstone fan too...I think I just might need to get some of those disc hangers too. I like how you did the display above the doors!
Blessings,
Linda
What a lovely difference this makes! I love ironstone too.
Another ironstone lover here. Nice to see your finds. Jane F.
Hi Lacy! I always love getting more glimpses of your beautiful home and I really love the addition of the ironstone pieces. They just warm up the space without overpowering it. It's more like adding depth and texture! And, I LOVE your panels flanking the french doors! Beautiful addition of color in my opinion! :-)

Love your pretty ironstone. Let me share something with you that I recently found on Nancy'sdailydish.blogspot.com They are adhesive round disk that you soak in warm water for a few minutes and place on the back of your plate. Leave to dry overnight. They have a small ring at the top for hanging. They are removable again by soaking in warm water. They are cheap, made in England, and if you order more than $5.00 the shipping is free. Can't beat that! I have recently tried them and I won't go back to the wire hangers again. I have damaged the gold edges on some of my plates using wire. You can see them by visiting Dischangers.com Thought you might be interested.
I love it too!!! Love the curtains on either side of the door!
So pretty! Love the ironstone up so that it can be enjoyed... I have some pieces too that I need to get up on my walls :)

Hi Lacy, thanks for the encouragement on the ironstone. I only have one piece and have passed up a couple. You've inspired me.
Love ironstone! It looks really pretty hanging on the wall!
Hi lacy, I am a ironstone lover too! Your plates and platter look wonderful on the wall.
Hugs, Sherry
Love your ironstone dishes, Lacy and love how you decorate with them...Christine
Good Morning Lacy, I think your ironstone plates that you added above the french doors look great and I really like the panels on each side of the doors. I too collect ironstone, I know this is going to sound crazy...I collect it to hang on the wall but have never hung any of it up! I just look at stacked up in my dish closet, crazy right?? You've inspired me to get busy and hang some pieces on the wall. Thank you!
Have a wonderful day. :o)
Fondly,
Ann

Lacy, love the ironstone. Fixing to hang some in a guest bedroom. What are you talking about "disc hangers" would love to know. Please drop by my place and e-mail me, if you don't mind. Joining you at Marty's.
The plates look great above the french doors. You are finding some good buys on those. I don't have much luck at Goodwill. Thanks again for joining the party.
I love ironstone too! I've been collecting it mostly at thrift shops and have picked up a few pieces at yard sales and antique shops. I haven't hung up any on the walls yet, but am planning that soon. Need to get some disc hangers.
Hi Lacy-
Love ironstone and any white dish for that matter. Yours looks great. I love how it looks above your door. I work in display - you can spray paint the plate hangers off white and then you won't see them on the plates. A tip I picked up a few years ago. :)
My best- Diane
Hi I just found your blog and have been reading different posts. I haven't read through the comments to see if anyone else has suggested this, however when I hang my plates on the wall I just get a piece of ribbon and hot glue it on in a loop. It holds well and whenever you're done using it on the wall the glue will come off as well.
Your home is beautiful!
Michele
