The Rustic Porch Tree

My back porch is a work in progress.
I have always imagined it would be somewhat country rustic,
like a mountain retreat.  It has taken a long time to even get what I have now.
It has not been a priority.  This year I decided I would put the porch tree up
first to make sure it didn't get pushed aside.

I used burlap ribbon found at Michael's.  The pine cones and limbs came from my yard.
I robbed my hubby's stash of real deer antler sheds and racks.
My boys are in love with this tree!

The centerpiece is an old Coke crate with a lantern, Leland cypress & Magnolia cuttings, and a few more sheds.  I added a few red balls for a pop of color.
All of these items were shopped from the house.

The Pleasure chest I have had for a while.
The Purina feed sack pillows were found on Etsy.

I am still working on my main tree, living room and kitchen decor..
How's your Christmas decor coming??

While your here stick around and check out some other post!

what a great woodsy tree.. I have no doubt the men in your family and all their pals love it.

I too gathered sticks from my yard but not nearly as big as yours..

That tree is eight kinds of wonderful. I love antlers and recently was given a few and if I may I might borrow your magnolia idea as we have two enormous magnolia trees.

This is such a terrific tree and so creative! Love the idea of the antlers and I have a box full of sheds. This may mean another tree for me!

Be sure to link up to the Bloggers Block Party! I'm hosting the Christmas Tree event on Friday 12/9!

Wonderfully rustic tree! I love that most of the items used in your decorations were things you already had!

I love how you decorated this tree for your porch. I plan on using some of those elements in my Christmas decor this year too. I can certainly see why your boys love this tree!

Great tree for the porch. How lucky to have all those antlers hanging around. The burlap ribbon is perfect.

Oh, wow! No wonder you guys love this tree, and I'm loving it, too! I'm glad you shared where you got your burlap ribbon. No one around here has it, but there is a Michael's store about 30 minutes away.

Love your tree and coke crate! Your husband should sell antlers on Ebay. There are none at the antique stores in my area.

You're lucky to have so many antlers NOT attached to a plaque. Now I'm going to check the garage to see if we have any. Thanks for the inspiration.

Wow, how fun to have an outdoor tree as well as an indoor tree - I am jealous! Love the rustic look. I too have a bit of an addiction to burlap. Thanks for sharing. Liz

Love, love! You are so lucky to have all those antlers! I decorated a small rustic tree this year. I might just have to steal your coke box idea if I can find my box!

I smiled reading your post. I've always wanted patio furniture in my backyard. Year after year though I don't get it. This past summer, we had not very nice weather for the most part and I was actually glad to not have the furniture to clean off this year.

The antlers are a unique touch to your wonderfully inviting tree. My decor this year will be minimalist, meaning I'm not going to do a great deal.

I am so not an antler girl...but I must say, they really make the tree wonderful. I love how you used them to enhance the tree. I am getting second thoughts about antlers now. I would love for you to link this gorgeous post to our newly launched blog party. Hope you can join us.

Our sons would love this tree too. I wish I could find some antlers( without buying any-lol) So for the tree topper of sticks you just stuck them in there and that's it? I'm going to look for the ribbon at Michael's tomorrow.
